Community Engagement & Facilities Assistant
GMC is seeking to fill two full time summer term positions for students between the age 15 to 30 years.

Responsibilities:
Help lead Love the Valley – the annual community engagement event
- Support the Community Engagement Director in planning and executing the event.
- Collaborate with local agencies to distribute food hampers.
- Coordinate and lead volunteer efforts for yard work at Manitoba Housing locations.
- Oversee setup and operation of free hot dog lunches across the Pembina Valley.
- Provide leadership to volunteers for a meaningful and organized experience.
- Promote the event within the church and the community to recruit volunteers and raise awareness.
Assist in leading the monthly Community Meal
- Assist the Community Engagement Director in planning and leading monthly church-hosted meals.
- Coordinate and delegate tasks to volunteers for smooth event execution.
- Foster a welcoming atmosphere by engaging with attendees.
- Collaborate with businesses, sponsors, and volunteers to secure resources.
- Offer creative ideas to enhance the meals’ impact and experience.
- Work with the communications team to promote the meals.
- Help with setup, service, and cleanup during events.
Support Care Collab
- Coordinate and deliver essential items to those in need with care and efficiency.
- Collaborate with local agencies to meet community needs.
- Attend Care Collab meetings and events, offering support as needed.
- Track and manage data on individuals served and assistance provided.
- Prepare reports for the Community Engagement Director, highlighting impacts and outcomes.
Collaborate with Youth Leader in Prime
- Partner with the youth leader to plan and facilitate a six-week summer youth mentorship program.
- Receive mentorship and develop skills in program coordination and leadership.
- Assist in delivering lessons on personal development, leadership, and spiritual growth.
- Mentor youth participants, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Recruit and train volunteers for program support.
- Keep the youth leader updated on progress, challenges, and successes.
- Help evaluate the program’s effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Promote the program to youth and their families.
Prepare and teach in Kid’s Grow Church (children’s program)
- Work with the Children’s Pastor to plan and organize engaging summer activities.
- Lead and facilitate activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
- Mentor volunteers, with guidance from the Children’s Pastor.
- Build positive relationships with children, fostering community and enthusiasm.
- Contribute creative ideas to enhance the program’s impact.
- Help communicate program updates to parents, guardians, and staff.
- Assist with setup, organization, and cleanup of materials and spaces.
Assist with facility cleanliness and maintenance
- Under the custodian’s supervision, help with daily cleaning tasks like sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing.
- Empty waste bins and follow proper recycling and disposal protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, offices, and shared spaces.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks and minor repairs.
- Assist in monitoring HVAC systems and addressing maintenance needs.
- Help with facility inspections to identify and address issues.
- Help with minor construction projects such as painting and basic assembly.
- Aid in outdoor maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and watering.
- Ensure the church’s exterior is tidy and well-maintained.
